It’s crucial to approach this question with care. Overdosing on pain relief pills can be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal. The number of pills required to cause death varies greatly depending on several factors, including the type of medication, the individual’s tolerance, weight, age, overall health, and whether they have any pre-existing medical conditions.

For example, over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), and naproxen (Aleve) can cause severe liver damage, gastrointestinal bleeding, or kidney failure in high doses. In extreme cases, overdose can lead to death.

Prescription opioids, such as oxycodone, hydrocodone, and morphine, are even more potent and carry a higher risk of overdose and death, particularly when misused or combined with other substances like alcohol or benzodiazepines.

There’s no specific number of pills that guarantees death, as it depends on various factors. However, intentionally taking excessive amounts of pain relief medication is a dangerous and potentially lethal act. If you or someone you know is considering self-harm or experiencing a medical emergency due to medication overdose, immediate medical attention is crucial. Contact emergency services or seek help from a healthcare professional or poison control center.

  1. Call and ask your phamistist.. i dont know what pills you are talking about.

dont take anymore than it says to on your bottle and you will be sure not to kill yourself.

I just hope your not planning something silly… its not worth it. Find someone to talk to. I know sometimes it feels like no one out there gives a shit these days, but when you are not expecting it, someone will come along that is listening and cares.

    Please take care.

  2. I don’t know, nor would I want to know… that would probably be a very scary death! Just imagin how people feel at that exact moment when you know that you are about to die, and no one is around to do anything about it. AND… who would find you. So, if your going to take medicine, follow the directions on the box and don’t mix them with any other medication unless directed by a doctor. Your question kind-of disturbs me. Why do you want to know this… and I’m not trying to be mean.

  3. if you stick to the directions that are printed with all medication, you do EXACTLY what they say, and you will be fine,

if you are in any doubt about how much to take or have taken speak to your pharmacist or doctor,

never mess about with medication, if you are feeling low talk to someone, every problem has a solution, even if you can’t see it, other people can help, please be careful

  4. IF THESE PILLS ARE PRECRIBED TO YOU THE AMOUNT AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD BE ON THE BOTTLE. THEY DO FOR A REASON. BUT IT DEPENDS ON YOU AND YOUR SYSTEM WHERE SOME A HALF OR LESS A BOTTLE COULD SHUT THE HEART DOWN IT MAY TAKE THE WHOLE BOTTLE OR EVEN LESS OR MAYBE LESS THAN A QUARTER OF THE BOTTLE WHO IS REALLY TO SAY. I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WAS YOUNG AND STUPID ONCE TOOK ONLY 1 PAIN PILL AND AN ASPRIN HAD BEER AND SHE DIED. NO-ONE ELSE DID. THAT WAS HER LUCK. HOW WAS ANYONE TOO KNOW. WE WOULD OF NEVER IMAGINED IT TOOK SO LITTLE TO KILL YOURSELF. JUST TAKE IT THE WAY YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO. PAM

  5. Take the amount that is directed on the bottle and no more. In case you haven’t seen the news lately plenty of people die just taking a few extra pills along with something else.

I take hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine sulphate, Soma, and Neurontin every day for a spine injury and I know that as long as I don’t mess around with them I will be fine.

Do yourself a favor and don’t try self-medicating.

I have been in a pain management program for several years and have seen far too many people ruin their lives taking pain medications more that recommended by their doctor.
It really is a bad idea.
Hope you feel better. If the pain meds that you have don’t work at the dosage directed then talk to your doctor before changing anything.

Really, I’m not preaching, I grew up in Southern California during the sixties so getting high is nothing new to me. But when it comes to heavy duty drugs like pain meds it’s best to listen to the guys that know. Your doctor
